Furman University, one of the nation’s leading liberal arts universities, engaged Radium Architecture to refresh and update the 1990s era design of their Dining Hall into a fresh and contemporary 24-hour student lounge and fast-casual dining kiosk.
Working closely with the university’s food service provider, Bon Appetite, Radium Architecture and ID Studio interiors reconfigured the existing first floor to feature a newly renovated food-court style eatery, a variety of seating groups, state-of-the-art technology, public/private study niches, and new finishes including carpet, luxury vinyl tile, and epoxy flooring.
Radium worked closely with the University’s contractor and engineering consultants in a hybrid design-build arrangement to meet an accelerated three-month construction schedule during the traditional summer break period.
